About

Escaping Routines was born from a simple idea: modern life moves too fast, and somewhere along the way, we lost touch with the land, our communities and ourselves. We’re here to help people slow down, reconnect with nature, and rediscover the joy of a simpler, more self-sufficient way of living.

Who We Are

We are a community-driven brand focused on sustainable living, self-sufficiency, and hands-on learning. Through nature retreats, community programmes, and volunteer-led building projects. We create spaces where people can step away from the daily grind and reconnect with what truly matters, the earth, their food, their skills and each other.

What We Do

We run programmes that teach practical, sustainable food-growing skills, from backyard gardens to community farms. Our goal is to help individuals and families build the confidence and know how to grow their own food and live more self-sufficiently.

Community Development Programmes

We partner with local communities to run initiatives that improve livelihoods, share knowledge, and build long-term resilience. Every programme is designed to create real, lasting impact, not just for individuals, but for entire communities.

Cob House Building & Volunteering

Our volunteer programmes bring people together to build cob houses using natural and eco-friendly building techniques. Volunteers learn hands-on construction skills, work alongside local community members, and leave with practical knowledge and a deeper connection to the people and place they’ve helped build in.

Camping & Cottage Accommodation

Whether you’re looking for a rustic camping experience under the stars or the comfort of a cosy cottage, we offer accommodation options that let you experience nature-based living firsthand, no matter your comfort level.

Why We Do It?

We believe that true wellbeing comes from balance between technology and nature, convenience and self-reliance, and individual growth and community impact. Escaping Routines exists to help people break away from unsustainable routines and build habits that are healthier for themselves, their communities, and the planet.
